Google Webmaster’s Tools – a Quick Tour

by

Google Webmaster's Tools has always been a fantastic (and free) resource for webmasters and bloggers. It recently got even better.

If you're not using Webmaster's Tools it's very easy to activate: just go into your Google account and add it to the services you use.

You'll need to fill out your site details and they'll give you a piece of code that you can put into an HTML file and upload to your site. This is so they can verify you're the site owner.

Do that and you're up and running.

Here, then, is a short video that summarises the information and help you'll get from Google Webmaster's Tools:

Martin,

Wow, I can’t believe there were no comments on this video. Maybe it is because you explained it incredibly well? I love how you did a video on this rather than just a text posting. I makes it so much easier to follow.

This is a great tool and I use it all the time. It really helps me to focus my SEO efforts and see my site from the googlebot perspective.

Brad, hi,

Thanks..!! Interestingly, it’s the least watched video of all the vids I have on You Tube. (I don’t have that many, though!).

I was a bit puzzled at first, but I just figured it was one of those posts that people just weren’t interested in! :)

Cheers,

Martin.
