Most people are actually engaged in selling services rather than products (e.g., accounting, dentistry, pool cleaning, web design, etc., etc.) and finding a way to market these online is a bit more tricky than selling the familiar range of online “products”. When it comes to alternatives for making a living online we internet marketers have a habit of squeezing the alternatives into a fairly rigid grid. Selling services rather than “products” does not neatly fit into this grid, so it doesn’t get discussed much.

Dave, hi,

I think the small middlemen companies need to embrace the net and move their businesses online as far as possible.

Even if a company is selling pipes or cement they can still use the internet to sell to customers, take orders, schedule deliveries and manage suppliers.

The move towards commerce being increasingly done online is inevitable..!

With the internet now being …. well, everything, you have to wonder where everything else in the world of commerce is going to stand up in the next ten years.
With more and more physical product making way for the virtual info revolution, where will small middlemen companies be in the near future.
