Upgrading to WordPress 2.6

by Martin on 21 July, 2008

in Wordpress

I just heard through Authority Site Centre that there have been some reports of problems upgrading to WP 2.6:  Some people have not been able to log in to their Admin screens after upgrading, and the advice is to hold off upgrading for the moment.

As per what I wrote the other day, I have not yet upgraded because WP 2.6 has been out for less than a week – so I can’t give you any personal feedback.  But the guys at ASC are extremely good and if their advice is to not upgrade just yet that’s good enough for me!

Let’s wait until the bugs are sorted out – I’ll write more as soon as I have more to write about.

Hi Paul,

I was sorry to read about your upgrade problems and I hope you get everything back again soon.

One thing I do urge you to think about for next time is to do a full back up of your blog database and system files before doing an upgrade.

That way if you have problems you can restore everything in a matter of minutes.

I’ll post as soon as I know that the problems have been fixed – so keep an eye out!

Cheers,

Martin.
