One thing you need to be careful of is getting a Free Blog at http://www.wordpress.com. They don’t let you advertise with Google Adsense or put your Affliliate Ads in your Posts. WordPress puts their own Google Adsense Ads in your Blog.

You can’t really make money with them.

For sure, getting started with a free blog will work.

One thing to think about is whether and how to move your links and readers when the time comes for you to move to your own domain.

Definitely doable, but something to think about.

Instead of using your own domain, it´s possible to start with some of the free blogging platforms for example, so you can start for free and add your own domain after your first results!

And I agree – it’s all about expectations. So many people come into this with completely the wrong expectations (I definitely did) that when their expectations aren’t met they cry ’scam’ or just walk away.

That’s not to say there aren’t any scams around – there most definitely are.

But, as I said in the article, developing a sustainable business online takes as long, and as much work, as developing a sustainable off-line business. As much planning, as much preparation, as much research and as much effort.

That has been the most helpful thing for me when doing marketing. Trouble is, the internet is supposed to be fast so people expect everything to happen overnight!
