One of My Sites Was Hacked

by Martin on 16 March, 2010

in Online Home Business

Seems like the hackers are after me at the moment: 2 weeks ago my Twitter account was hacked and last week one of my static web sites was hacked. Last week’s hack was particularly embarrassing. I’d sent someone the link to my Web Services site. On the web design page there are some links to [...]

My Twitter Account Was Hacked

by Martin on 25 February, 2010

in Online Home Business

My Twitter account was hacked yesterday. It started sending out the ‘This You..??’ Direct Message to people I’m following. The DM has a link and, out of curiosity (and with bated breath), I decided to see where it went. I closed everything else down so I could invoke AVG quickly and get rid of nasties [...]

by Martin on 19 January, 2010

in Online Home Business

Security On WordPress Blogs

by Martin on 9 October, 2008

in Wordpress

I wrote a post last week on how Dean Hunt’s WordPress Blog was hacked – what happened and how they fixed it. If your blog is hacked and has spam links inserted into it you will, without question, lose all your search engine rankings and probably be blacklisted. That means no more traffic, and no [...]

WordPress Users Watch Out! (And Read This)

by Martin on 2 October, 2008

in Wordpress

If you’re on Dean Hunt’s mailing list you’ll already have seen his post on WordPress blogs being hacked, so no need to read any further. If you’re not on his list then, if you’re a WordPress user, you need to read this. It’s an article about how Dean’s WordPress blog was hacked in a very [...]
